The other day I had a brand new experience: I got my first-ever piece of mail! I had always wondered what those funny papers were that the cat-parents bring in every day. It turns out they’re a strange form of communication that cat-servants exchange with each other. Here’s how it works:
- A cat-servant writes or prints on a piece of paper – some of them have nice pictures on one side
- The nearest cat closely inspects the paper as it’s being written
- The paper goes in another piece of paper that covers it up
- Another smaller piece of paper gets stuck to one corner
- Yet another small piece of paper goes on another corner
- Cat sits on the whole assembly to make sure it passes the butt test
- Cat-servant removes paper from fanny and puts it in a box outside
- The paper is magically transported to another cat-servant’s box outside
- Cat-servant removes the papers from the box and brings them inside
- The nearest cat performs a second butt test to ensure the papers are still intact
- The inside paper gets removed and the cat-servants fawn over it for a few minutes
- All the papers get thrown into the recycling bin
Anyhoo, the other day a paper assembly arrived with my name on it! Cat-Mommy opened it up and it was a wonderful get well card from Cat-Aunt wishing me a speedy and complete recovery. Here’s the picture from the card:
How delightful to receive mail; I sat on the card for several minutes to show my approval. Thanks Cat-Aunt for your kind wishes!
How clever! We both laughed our heads off. xoxoxo
Thanks Bobbe, glad you liked it! I left out the part where the recycling gets made into more papers that then go back to step 1! 🙂
How cute! We’re glad to hear that you enjoy getting mail – please let us know if you get more!
